Maya Orchin is a native of Philadelphia, PA. After graduating with a BFA from George Mason University she has danced with Luis Lara Malvacias, Zoe Scofield, Davis Freeman, Joanna Mendl Shaw, Madeline Hollander, Reut Shemesh, Lynn Neuman, Carson Reiners, Jen Harmon, Jody Sperling, Maurice Fraga, Jody Oberfelder, Kristin Swiat, and Danielle Russo.


Her choreography has been presented internationally at Quartier Danses in Montreal, Canada and by Die Elektroschuhe at Dock 11 in Berlin, Germany.  Most recently she choreographed a new version of 'Pictures at an Exhibition' in Moscow, Russia.  In New York her work has been shown at the 92nd ST Y, Judson Church, Center for Performance Research, ArtHelix Gallery, The Williamsburg Art and Historical Society, DUMBO Dance Festival and The Red Lotus Room. She has also choreographed and performed for the hit podcast live tour ‘Israel Story’ which tours all over the United States and Israel. Most recently she was a performer in the European tour of ‘Room 29’ with Jarvis Cocker and Chilly Gonzales. She has assisted on choreographic projects for MOMA PS1 and NIKE.  This summer Maya will choreograph for a new immersive theater show in Montreal Canada, show a duet at Ladek Zdroj Dance Festival in Poland, will be a choreographer in residence at DanceItalia, and will perform at St. Pancras Station in London, England .
